We saw a lot of leather this season on the catwalk, like last spring/summer 2010.
Alexander Wang showed dresses, skirts, pants and on-trend cycling shorts made of leather. Frank Tell en Jeremy Laing showed coloured leather in their collection and Proenza Schouler made the rough leatherlook feminine with pleated skirts and balconette dresses constructed from shiny, black leather.

Multiple designers decorated their designs with fringe just as last.
The 70's ar coming back with long lean shapes.
Cynthia Rowley played with coloured fringe from broad strips of fabric on dresses, tops and skirts.
Derek Lam showed country/western fringe designs and the sisters Mulleavy had a fringe factor in the Rodarte collectie with wool fringe on the designs.

HORIZONTAL STRIPE SHIRT WITH RAGLAN DETAIL

Ingredients:
-Rubber Gloves- Tulip Tie Dye ($5) in Black, Blue, and Yellow
-American Apparel Sheer Jersey Long Sleeve Tee ($26)Directions:

1. Lay the shirt down on a flat surface. Insert a piece of cardboard in between the layers, so the dye does not bleed through from the front to the back!
2. Spray sides of the shirt with the Yellow fashion dye creating two outer panels of color.
3. Spray the middle section of the shirt with the darker contrasting color (in this case, the Blue fashion dye). It's ok if the color overlaps a little bit—we think the bleeding looks cool!
4. Let it dry flat (for approximately thirty minutes; it's ok if it’s a bit damp, as it will help the color bleed) and repeat first three steps on the backside of the shirt.
5. Once it has dried, gather the shirt in very thin vertical sections, grabbing from the neck and the bottom of the shirt (to create an accordion effect!)
6. Finally, make thin horizontal lines with the Black fashion dye (with tip applicator) across the gathered accordion surface using the tip of your tie dye bottle nozzle. Repeat on the sleeves.
7. Again, our master crafter recommends you wait for the shirt to dry for three days before washing, according to the directions on the tag. For peace of mind, wash it in like colors or all by itself first!

Lara Stone Chats to Interview About Her Engagement, Who She Asked to Make Her Wedding Dress

>> Lara Stone, who just recently got engaged to British comedian David Walliams, covers the March 2010 issue of Interview (photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott); inside, she chats with Marc Jacobs — who she recently worked with on the Spring 2010 Louis Vuitton campaign — about the upcoming wedding, her stint in rehab, and all the attention on her body. She tells Jacobs of fiance Walliams: "He's wonderful. He's amazing. He makes me laugh. He's a proper gentleman. He's a bit mean but in a good way. I'm happy." The engagement was just announced at the end of last month, and Stone says she hasn't really started to make wedding plans "because I haven't been home at all since we got engaged." She does, however, know what she'll be wearing: "I asked Riccardo [Tisci] to make my dress."

Lara is quickly rising to the ranks of Natalia Vodianova and Gisele Bundchen, but when Jacobs asks whether she's recognized on the street:
"Not that much — just occasionally. I find it weird. It's so strange when some little girl runs up to you and is like, 'Oh, you're Lara!' And I'm like, 'How do you know that?'"

On dealing with fashion parties, post-rehab:
"It's gotten a lot better over the last few months. It's only been 10 months, but it's getting so much better. I kind of feel a bit insecure about things. At fashion parties, I do feel like people are kind of watching me and I just . . . I don't know, I get so shy, and I think, Oh, if only I could have a drink now. . . . But then that feeling disappears — it actually disappears pretty quickly. I remember how happy I am that I don't drink anymore. I think about all the bad times I had when I was drunk. . . . I messed up so many things. I don't want to do that anymore."
"I used to love slapping people in the face when I was drunk. I thought it was really funny, so I did a lot of that. I'd pick fights with doormen and bouncers and stuff a lot. Ex-boyfriends. But nobody ever punched me back, so I don't know if that counts as a physical fight."

On all the attention her curves garner:
"I'm a bit better now, but I was pretty self-conscious about it a few months ago because everybody kept going on like, 'Oh, she's so curvy!' and 'She's a plus-size model!' and this and that. It's all people would talk about — how I'm not very skinny. For a while, it made me pretty upset and I got a bit obsessive about it. I did a bunch of dieting and exercising and everything. I was losing weight, but I was still much bigger than everybody else. I didn't really see the point of making myself crazy anymore, so I kind of toned it down a little bit."

And on why she doesn't like working with female photographers:
"Personally, I don't like working with female photographers because they seem to never be able to make up their minds about what they want to do — with the exception of Inez [van Lamsweerde] because she always knows what she's doing. But so many times it's like, 'Oh, let's try this' and 'Let's try that' and 'Let's do this' and 'Let's do that.' It's like, 'For f*ck's sake, woman!'"

Alexander McQueen Samples Recalled, Speculation on Company's Future Rises —This morning, Alexander McQueen's director of communications sent out an urgent message requesting all samples be sent back "asap" because securing "all items and garments from current and past collections" is their "immediate priority." Gucci Group remains mum on the future of McQueen the company — save CEO Robert Polet's emailed statement on the subject, which read: "What I can say is that there is a team at Alexander McQueen that has enormous talent and energy and passion that Lee was extremely proud of and I am too." A number of articles are popping up, citing luxury consultants and analysts who find the designer and his brand too inextricably linked for the company to survive without him. Noted one: "I think PPR will use this as a pretext to walk away from the McQueen brand, which has never really made any money anyway. The label just hasn't been around for long enough to be able to survive in the long term now that he is no longer there. A brand needs to have a history to live on in these circumstances and Alexander McQueen's brand doesn't have enough of a history. It's comparatively recent and its roots are not deep [Heard on the Runway, Bloomberg, Times UK, AP]

BALMAIN s\s2010

The summer collections are here for a while now
and I'm looking forward to see the fallwinter shows
after all the pre fall collections
I'm excited and since the cold is staying,
It should be nice to see a different winter wardrobe.
A couple weeks ago that Isaw this picture of daria.
The more I look at it the more I feel...dunno
such a bad picture
really does no justice to her beauty.

celine's spring/summer collection is inspiring the highstreet,
mango (left) and zara (right) both got an A-line skirt,
similar to the one phoebe philo designed in their collection.
It's nice to see Iris strubegger in a girly combination with longer hair.
She's getting more popular and you can see her often in the magazines,
she has a strong angular face and seeing her in the different campaigns is showing
her diversity, she's really grown on me.
(and my short haircut is growing out too so fun to see what she's doing, in some of the spring shows -dior- they styled her in long hair)
Anyway, thinking of making a leather A-line skirt myself (or I''ll end up bying one)
and wear it celine style with a white xl shirt under it!
getting so excited seeing all the spring clothes coming in :D
